| These are, for whatever reason, a big part of my life. As Matt said, you can learn much about someone by what movies they claim as their favorites. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Snatch + Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels - Stylish editting, great dialogue, well crafted stories. The weaving together of different stories. The characters are so cool. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Army of Darkness - such great fun, one liners, innovative violence. A chainsaw in medievil ages. mmm.. boomstick. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Being John Malkovich - a new fairy tale to join the ranks of those of Lewis Carroll. Except this one is not for the kiddies. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| American Beauty - those reading this site are quite likely from the suburbs. We all know this is going on, we may even be one of the characters in this flick. Character transformation and a style mirroring classic tragedy put this movie on the tops in sheer quality. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Fight Club - This movie was made for people like me. We are a generation raised by our mothers. We only sleep well after experiencing the suffering of others. We are not unique and beautiful snowflakes. And so much more. This movie survives long after experiencing the twist. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Kevin Smith Flicks - great on target dialogue, filled with characters that you almost know. The cleverness in small thread bonds between the movies is great. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Leon: the Professional - my favorite action movie. The action is excellent, the acting is flawless, and damned if the end isn't somehow moving. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| American History X - this movie actually brings a tear to my eye everytime that I watch it, as long as I pay attention. Norton's second stop on this short list. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| the Royal Tenenbaums - I love every Wes Anderson film, and look forward to his forthcoming film, the Life Aquatic. Following the antics of the terrible Royal is the most joy I get out of any Anderson film. Although, every time I watch any of them, I love them all more. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Zero Effect - a very sly movie. The enigmatic Darrell Zero has no social skills, and needs Ben Stiller to play his straight man. Zero's advice to wannabe PIs is priceless, also seeing him solve the mystery in the first third of the movie is quite something. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
